Abstract

ABSTRACT The main problem of settlement in Jambi City is that it is prone to flooding and puddles, one of which is in the Jambi Timur District, Rajawali Village. The negative impact of flooding and inundation is the emergence of various diseases and damage to the drainage wall channel. The purpose of this research is to study the drainage system in Rajawali Village, so that solutions can be found to solve the problem. The results of this study are known with the dimensions of the existing drainage width (b) 2 m and height (h) 0.60 m, the existing discharge of 4.129 m 3 /second is smaller than the design discharge of 4.755 m 3 /second, it is necessary to design a cross-sectional channel design in the form of : for a rectangle, the height (h) is 1.2 m and the width (b) is 2.2 m. The control discharge (QS ) is 18.234 m3/second which is greater than (QR) 4.755 m 3 /second. For a trapezoidal cross section, the bottom width (b) is 2.5 m, the height (h) is 1.5 m and the top width (B) is 3.3 m. control discharge (QS) is 55.518 m 3 /second of (Qs) a rectangular cross section of 18.234 m 3 /second. for circular cross section obtained channel diameter (D) 2.3 m. from the calculation of the channel discharge (QE) 30.950 m 3 /second is greater than the design discharge (QT) = 22.096 m 3 /second, then it can be safely used.
