Abstract

ABSTRACT The research objective was to determine the effect of the work environment on employee performance. The data used in this study are primary data obtained from questionnaires. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires to 76 employees. The sample of this research is the employee of the Merlung Inpatient Health Center. The method of analysis is the data obtained from the results of research using descriptive and quantitative analysis, the analysis technique used is the Simple Linear Regression analysis technique to test the results of data collection for each respondent. The results of the study show that the work environment variable influences the performance of employees at the Merlung Inpatient Health Center. This Puskesmas serves various puskesmas programs such as health checks (check-ups), making health certificates, outpatient care, removing stitches, changing dressings, suturing wounds, pulling teeth, checking blood pressure, pregnancy tests, checking children, blood group tests, uric acid, cholesterol and others. Based on the results of the analysis above, the work environment and employee performance are classified as good/high. This is evidenced by the coefficient of determination of 0.105 or 10.5%. This proves that the work environment affects employee performance by 10.5%. While the rest is influenced by other factors outside of this study. And the hypothesis test explains that tcount 2.953 > ttable 1.992. In the work environment variable, it is important to improve a good working environment in helping to improve employee performance, especially in terms of the availability of equipment in the workplace, such as air circulation so that air can enter more easily, in each employee's room not too narrow so that air can go in and out more easily. Based on the statement of performance variables regarding the working relationship between employees running well has the lowest score, so that the Merlung inpatient health center needs to increase cooperation between employees.
