Abstract

ABSTRACT Organization and employees are two things that need each other. Improving employee performance will bring progress to an institution or organization to be able to continue to direct the goals to be achieved. Process leadership style is in directing and influencing members in carrying out various activities in an organization. The Siginjei Jambi Museum is a management implementing unit which is a parliamentary institution that serves the interests of the community and its progress is not for profit but seeks to collect, maintain, study, exhibit and communicate human and environmental material objects for the purposes of study, education and enjoyment. This research method is descriptive quantitative using simple regression analysis. Research data were obtained from respondents through questionnaires with a total of 39 employees as respondents. Statistical analysis was performed using the SPSS 20 program. The results obtained show that the significant value is 0.000 > 0.05. Then the R square value is 0.78 or 78.3%. This means that the independent variables (Leadership Style and Work Environment) affect the variable (employee performance) by 78.3% and the rest is influenced by other variables not included in the study. The conclusion from this study is that the leadership style in this study shows that the overall average is in the very good category. Then on the overall average work environment variable, it is included in the very good category and the score is very good. Then the overall average performance variable includes the very good category and the score is very good. Then the coefficient value of the variable leadership style has a positive sign on employee performance, so the results of the study conclude that leadership style has a positive effect on the work environment and employee performance at the Siginjei Museum Jambi.
