Key Words: Powerpoint, Vocabulary Mastery. This research was done to find the effect of using powerpoint towards students’ vocabulary mastery at second grade of SMA N 3 Kota Jambi Academic year 2018/2019. The researcher used a quantitative method with a random sampling technique. The sample of this research was the second of social grade students at SMA N 3 Kota Jambi Academic Year of 2018/2019. The instrument of this research was a powerpoint method. This study involve 70 students of the second grade students at SMA N 3 Kota Jambi academic year of 2018/2019 as the object of the study which were divided into two classes. Class XI MIPA 5 consisted of 35 students was assigned as the experiment class and Class XI MIPA 1 consisted of 35 students was assigned as the control class. The data was collected by using test.. The research formulation is “Is there any significant effect by using powerpoint towards students’ vocabulary mastery at the second grade of SMA N 3 Kota Jambi in Academic Year 2018/2019?”. The effect of using powerpoint towards students’vocabulary mastery is effect after treatment discussion method which is proven with students’ score higher than before treatment. The effect of using powerpoint towards students’ vocabulary mastery makes learning process more interesting and students’ can fill in treatment process. The data are collected by using two test namely, pre test and post test. Thus the alternative hypothesis is accepted, the value of t-test higher than the value of t-table (3,294>1,69). Based on the finding above, it can be concluded that the effect of using powerpoint towards vocabulary has a significant effect students’ of vocabulary mastery at second grade students of SMA N 3 Kota Jambi.
