Abstract

English is one of the languages which are studied by people around the world. There are several reasons why people learn English. There are three components in learning which are very important: teacher , students and materials of lesson. The three components have to be in good condition to make our learning succeed. Reward in learning process can encourage and stimulate students in learning. The purpose of this research is to know The Effect Of Using Reward Toward English Achievement In Learning English of the eighth grade students of SMP N 9 Kota Jambi in Academic year 2017. The research is about quantitative research on Experimental design . The populations are students from grade VIII on SMP Negeri 9 Kota Jambi and samples are students from VIII C for experimental class and VIII G for control class. The Technique of Collecting Data by using pre-test and post-test. The Technique of Data Analysis is normality test, and homogeneity test. The effect of using reward towards English Achievement in learning English class experimental pre-test = 2365 , post-test= 2915 and class control pre-test = 9680, post-test = 2745.
