Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aims to determine the influence of Human Development Index (HDI), Inflation and Unemployment toward Poverty in the Regencies/ Cities in Jambi Province. Unemployment is dependent variable, while Human Development Index (HDI), Inflation, and Unemployment is independent variables. This research is combined to Time Series and Cross Section. The data type used is secondary data with the data panel. The object of this study is Jambi Province. The method of analysis used is regression panel. Thus, from the most appropriate model selection is the Fixed Effect Method (FEM). Based on the results of the F-test simultaneously, the variable Human Development Index (HDI), Inflation and Unemployment to Poverty is 0.000000. The result of determination coefficient (R2) shows the value of the R-Square coefficient is 0.992673. It means that the variation of Poverty in the regencies/ cities in Jambi Province can be explained by the independent variables in the statistical model of 99.02%. While, the remaining 87,81% is explained by other factors not included in the model. Based on the t-test on 0,05% the significance (α), Human Development Index (HDI) variable toward Poverty has a positive and significant effect. Inflation variable toward Poverty has a positive and not significant effect. Then, Unemployment variable toward Poverty has a negative and not significant effect.
