Abstract

Apriyana, Desi. 2021. Thesis. Students’ Perception of Using Google Meet for Speaking Skill in Online Learning during Covid19 Pandemic at the Twelfth Grade Students of SMAN 3 Jambi in Academic Year 2020/2021. English Language Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Educational Sciences, University of Batanghari Jambi. The first advisor: Yanti Ismiyati, M.Pd. The second advisor: Ridho Praja Dinata, M.Pd. Key words: Students’ perception, Google Meet, Speaking, Online Learning. This research aimed to find out students’ perception of using google meet for speaking skill in online learning during covid19 pandemic. The researcher used phenomenology qualitative method. The data was collected through semistructured interview. This research used purposive sampling. There were 6 students that participated in this research. This research found that Students' perceptions of using google meet for speaking skill in online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic are different. Using google meet during this pandemic has advantages and disadvantages, where the effects felt by students are also different. Based on data analysis, students’ perception of using google meet for speaking skill in online learning during covid19 pandemic is quite good, and google meet is very helpful in learning during the Covid-19 pandemic.
