Abstract

ABSTRACT SERLI ARIYANI / 1900861201009 / 2023 / FACULTY OF ECONOMICS BATANGHARI JAMBI / THE EFFECT OF WORKING CAPITAL, TOTAL ASSET TURNOVER AND CASH TURNOVER ON RETURN ON ASSET IN THE TOBACCO SUB SECTOR INDUSTRY LISTED ON INDONESIA STOCK EXCHANGE PERIOD 2017 – 2021 / 1st ADVISOR HJ. ATIKAH, S.E., M.M / 2nd ADVISOR FADIL ISKANDAR, S.E., M.M. The purpose of this study was to determine the Effect of Working Capital, TATO, and CTO On ROA In The Tobacco Sub Sector Industry For The Period 2017 – 2021. This research is a quantitative descriptive study and the analytical tool used in this study is a multiple linear regression equation. Data anaylis was carried out through several stages of data analysis, including the following: (1) Normality test, (2) Multicolinearity test, (3) Heteroscedasticity test, (4) Autocorrelation test, (5) Multiple linear regression equations, (6) Hypothesis test statistic with F test, T test, and Coefficient of Determination test. The population of this study were companies engaged in the tobacco sector on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 2017 – 2021, using a purposive sampling technique, 4 companies were obtained that met the criteria in this study, namely as follow: (1) PT. Gudang Garam Tbk (GGRM), (2) PT. Handjaya Mandala Sampoerna Tbk (HMSP), (3) Bentoel International Investama Tbk (RMBA), and (4) Wismilak Inti Makmur Tbk (WIIM). The tobacco industry is a manufacturing company. The tobacco industry makes a significant contribution to state revenues through the payment of tobacco taxes and excise. Tobacco products are one of Indonesia main export commodities. Multiple linear regression analysis model to perform hypothesis testing. Based on the SPSS results, the equation of the multiple linear regression analysis model obtained is Y = -0,284 + 0,133X1 + 3,108X2 – 0,277X3. Based on the results of the F test, the calculated F value is 5,07 and the F table value is 3,24 so that the results are 5,07 > 3,24 and a significant value of 0,12 is less than 0,05, so it can be sasid that Working Capital, TATO, and CTO significantly and together affect the ROA. Meanwhile, based on the results of the T test, the Working Capital variable shows t count 0,509 with a significant value of 0,618, the TATO variable shows t count 1,846 with a significant value of 0,83, the CTO variable shows t count -0,731 with a significant value 0,475, which means that the three variables have no significant effect on ROA. In conclusion the R Squared value of 48,8% of the ROA variable can be explained by 3 independent variables namely Working Capital, TATO, CTO. While the remaining 52,2% is explained by variables other than Working Capital, TATO, CTO.
