A Thesis, English Educational Study Program Faculty of Teacher Training and Educational University of Batanghari. The first advisor, Dr. Suyadi, MA. the second advisor, Yanti Ismiyati, M.Pd. Keywords : Peer Feedback Technique, Writing Skill, Narrative Text The purpose is to find out whether there is significant effect of peer feedback technique toward students’ writing skill for grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 5 Kota Jambi in academic year 2018/2019. This research used quantitative research. The sample of this research are students of VIII I and VIII J at SMP Negeri 5 Kota Jambi. The data used hypothesis test. In experimental class got the result, pre-test got the average 70,75 and post-test got the average 84,75. In control class got the result, pre-test got average 63,50 and post-test got average 80,50. While ttest 1 got 23,934tcount, ttest 2 got 9,191tcount, ttest 3 got 3,847tcount and compared with ttable 2,101, this mean that there is effect in the students’ writing skill. The findings in this research about the effect of writing by peer feedback technique has shown good result. The conclusion that there is significant effect of using peer feedback technique toward students’ skill in writing narrative text at SMP Negeri 5 Kota Jambi and the treatment in experimental class given good influence more than control class.
