Key Words: Effect, Team Word Webbing, Descriptive Text. This research aims to find out the effect of Team word webbing methods used by the first grade students at SMA Negeri 9 Kota Jambi Academic Year 2018/2019. The sample of this research was the first grade students of social class at SMA Negeri 9 Kota Jambi. In this research, the researcher used quantitative research. To get the sample of this research, the researcher used random sampling technique. The instrument of this research was a test which consisted of pre test and post test. The number of of test given is 20 questions in each text. Data in this study obtained from the results of test given to students’. Based on the result of this research, the researcher suggests that the using Team word webbing method is effective to increase the students’ reading especially in reading comprehension.
