The Second Advisor: Khidayatul Munawwaroh, M.pd. Keywords: Thesis writing, Internal Factors, External Factors This research aimed to analyze the undergraduate students’ problems in writing thesis based on internal factors and external factors. This research used qualitative method. This research involved 26 students of B class of Seminar subject in English Education Study Program of Batanghari University in academic year 2017/2018. The data were collected through interview. This researh analyzed two factors of the problem that the undergraduate students faced in writing thesis. first, internal factors that comprised self esteem, inhibition, anxiety, and motivation. Second, external factors that comprised suitable thesis statement, relevant reference, finding data, and improper language. The findings of this research shows that the problem comes from external factors.
