Abstract

The Work Motivation can be influenced performance. In case of Police Members at Public Relation Section of Jambi Regional Police , study objectives are: 1) to describe and analyze the level of work motivation and performance of Police Members at Public Relation Section of Jambi Regional Police. 2) to find out and analyze the effect of work motivation on the performance of Police Members at Public Relation Section of Jambi Regional Police. Motivation is a factor that encourages a person to perform a certain activity therefore motivation is often interpreted also as a factor driving one's behavior. There are two factors that can cause a sense of satisfaction or dissatisfaction according to Herzberg, the factors of maintenance (hygiene factors) and motivator factors. Employee performance is the results of the work functions of a person or group in an organization that is influenced by several factors to achieve organizational goals within a certain time period. Public Relation Section (Bidhumas) is an element of supervisor and assistant leadership under the Jambi Regional Police Chief. Bidhumas is tasked with carrying out Public Relations (PR) activities through the management and delivery of news or information and documentation as well as cooperation and partnerships with the mass media, and carrying out Anev Bidhumas task activities This study uses descriptive analysis of qualitative and quantitative. The study population as much as 30 people,,because the population is less than 100 then the population directly into the sample or with the census technique. The technique of collecting data using questionnaires. The analysis technique used simple linear regression to see the influence of Work Motivation on Performance of Police Members at Public Relation Section of Jambi Regional Police as well as forwarded by using R Square and hypothesis with t test. The results of the simple linear regression is Y = 0,252 + 0,991X , by constan of 0,252 judge performance of Police Members at Public Relation Section of Jambi Regional Police constan worth 0,252. Coefficient regression work motivation is 0,991, shows if work motivation increased a unit, so performance of Police Members at Public Relation Section of Jambi Regional Police will increase in amount 0,991. T testing shows can be seen t calculate greater than t table, ( t calculate = 9,653 > 1,701= t table) so Ho rejected and H work motivation that significantly can influence on performance of Police Members at Public Relation Section of Jambi Regional Police. The amount of influence of work motivation variable explain the performance variable of Police Members at Public Relation Section of Jambi Regional Police equal to 76,9%, while the rest 23,1% influenced or explained by other factors. The relationship between work motivation variable and performnce calculated with correlation coefficient is 0,877 shows strong relationship.
