Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of discipline and motivation on employee performance. The research method used in this research is a descriptive research method with a quantitative approach. The types of data used are primary and secondary data. The data in this research are data on the number of employees, attendance data, and employee performance data from the Jelutung sub-district office, Jambi City. The sample for this research was all employees of the Jelutung sub-district office, Jambi City, with a total of 34 employees using census techniques, which means the entire population was sampled. The analytical tools used in this research are descriptive and verification. The results of this research are that discipline and motivation have a positive effect on performance variables in the Jelutung sub-district, Jambi City. Based on research results, discipline has a positive effect on performance variables. This is indicated by the significance level of the discipline variable < 0.05, namely for discipline the significance level is 0.001. and motivation does not have a significant effect on performance variables. This is indicated by the significance level of the motivation variable > 0.05, namely the significance level is 0.216. Discipline and motivation have a positive effect on performance variables in Jelutung District, Jambi City. This shows that the calculated f is greater than the table f, namely the calculated f value is 11.556 while the f table value is 3.30 with a significance level of 0.000. because the significance level is smaller than 0.005. So this regression model can be used for performance variables in the Jelutung sub-district, Jambi City
